Let the blogging begin

so i feel a little like doogie howser and i'm not really sure where to start with this thing. i guess i should've had a plan, right. otherwise why start a blog? it's not like i'm off on some great vacation somewhere or currently in a think tank to solve all the world's problems. but somehow i just really want to write. and talk without being interrupted!

i live on somerville, mass. it's practically cambridge (just a couple doors down) and practically boston (only a couple miles). the sister of my old college roommate just moved here and is finding it to be less than friendly and in fact downright nasty sometimes. and ya know what, she's kinda right. people are abrupt, in a hurry, honk a lot! there are so many people in this general area that might get in your way that you just overlook everyone.

now, i have found that people can be nice here. they help you on the subway when you look lost, give you directions as best anyone can around here. people are friendly at restaurants and bars (as friendly as anywhere else). everyone i work with is pleasant, helpful and enjoyable.

but no one who works at the RMV is friendly. they are all grumpy, rude and treat you like you are clueless. at least every experience that i've heard about!

i like it here a lot, but other than my job and a handful of friends i feel no obligation, commitment or otherwise to this city. home is where the love of my life is.

well all have a fabulous evening. we're off to see the very respectable (in certain circles) The Devil's Rejects!
