little mistakes

so i made a mistake at work today. not a huge life or death mistake. but enough of a mistake that if by some chance the hardware inside this guy's knee moved he may have to have surgery again.
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm

THAT SUCKS!

so even a careless misreading of someone else's handwriting when i am tired and lazy for one moment can lead to chaos. CHAOS. (this is chaos for me, i have a tendency to feel guilty about everything i do in the world---pretty much everything).

so then follows the incident report, the note in the record and the EXTREMELY EMBARASSING phone call to a physician who i respect tremendously to tell him about my little mistake.

think about how many mistakes we make in our everyday life or things we forget to do at work, at home. life is chaoitc and we do not have enough room inside our heads to remember everything. thank god i'm not a physician!

to feel better i spread out my guilt onto my co-workers and supervisor who assure me that this is a minor insult. i still want a drink now.
