The Year of the Bus

Saturday was the "last" Walsh Brothers show in Boston. I mean, the last full production craziness. They do have two more "great and secret comedy shows" the next two thursday nights.

BUT one of the best skits was the Fung Wah pitch.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Fung Wah it is this magical bus that gets you from China Town in Boston to China Town in New York in about two hours. For $15.

That $15 guarantees only that you will arrive in one china town from another. Your mental state upon arrival depends on your sense of adventure.

The Fung Wah has had it's moments: buses catching on fire, running out of gas on the highway, rolling over and most recently sliding into some toll booths on our icy Valentine's Day.

The Walsh Brothers did this great skit where they pitch an ad idea to a "Fung Wah executive" and include a rock song (provided by the GrownUp Noise). It was beautiful, just beautiful.

K and P told us about the Fung Wah when we were in town; it sounds like the kind of thing that makes a place unique...there's no Fung Wah in Ohio! So you want the Fung Wah to keep existing...without you having to ride it.
