So a few days ago my eldest nephew was attempting to help his brother open a hot chocolate packet. Alas, the scissors did not work so he got out one of his dad's pocket knives (A HUGE NO NO THAT HE IS WELL AWARE OF!)
Well as you might suspect he nearly cut his left index finger tip off. It was bad enough that he had to have a plastic surgeon perform the stiching repairs. He has all these bizarre rules to follow for the next three weeks:
1) Keep the finger at or above 72 degrees
2) Vitamin C daily
3) A RED apple daily
4) Antibiotics
5) (if leaving the house) Car must be completely warmed up; From house to car hand must be wrapped up in a nice warm something or other
All this is to keep his circulation good so that the finger will heal and he will not lose the finger tip.
Goes to show that kids are quick and sneaky no matter how well-behaved they normally are!
Anywho the whole point of this post is to say that I felt naseaus and tingly (my sympathy pains and just feeling so bad for my nephew). I can't even imagine what it feels like to be a parent in that instance. How do they do it?
Nice work sis. She didn't lose her cool until her hubby showed up at the hospital and could take over! Adrenalin is amazing and so are parents!

Yikes! Best of luck to your nephew (and your sister and husband). That will be a hard set of instructions to follow, but I bet he won't be coming close to a knife again for a long time!
