So I am doing the turkey finally. I have so far managed to get out of it, but not this year. P and I are having people over and clearly it's best to do the turkey where the dinner is taking place!
For the past few years either P's parents or our friends have done the turkey. But not this year.
I think I have a handle on things, but we're having five guests and I don't want to get it wrong. I don't even know if I have a good knife for carving. I suppose it will all work out. We will have lots of fun, eat lots of food regardless of how the turkey turns out.
P's spectacular mashed potatoes will save the day if called upon to do so!

Beth,
Turkey is a "piece of cake" compared to other meat. Get a good cookbook or go on-line and follow the roasting instructions.
We'll be in Maiden Rock with some of the other Hansen family, and although I'm bringing the turkey, I 'm not sure who is cooking. George is organizing things.
Have a wonderful Thanksigiving feast. Remember, it isn't the food, it's about the people who you are with.
Peace!
No sweat! You'll be fine...Turkey is mostly about the right temp, the right amount of cooking time, and basting. Don't worry about the "carving knife"...you won't need it. And if (a BIG IF) it turns out less than what you wanted, no worries. We're all in it for the company and the good times!
