Time of year

So I really love fall. At least I thought I did. But for at least the first few days, or maybe the first week or so, I am really melancholy.

Maybe I'm thinking of those first few weeks when you get back to college and it's so fun and exciting (but now I miss it?). Or maybe that's when P starts to get really busy again after being home and only home for a week or so after he's back from tour.

Whatever it is I'm feeling it. Lots of changes at work too. One of my best employees is going to retire (yes, he's old enough to retire). He's someone I rely on a lot. In lieu of hiring someone new my boss wants to try a co-op student from a college we do that sort of thing with. It's weird, they make their PT students do co-ops for 6 months instead of going to school I think they have to do it twice too. At least they get paid.

I'm not looking forward to orienting someone every 6 months to behavior management techniques, the flow of the floor, heavy gait training. They will get used to it and us to them and then they will leave. Yuck! I'm going to try to strike a deal that we can try it out and if it's awful we can try to hire someone full time. Hmmmmmm.

I'm having one of those "I don't quite fit in" moments among the other PTCPLs. I don't mean to imply that I am special or unique or any way. I just don't quite fit in. Or so I am feeling this week. Next week I'll probably be one of the gang again. (perhaps all the sports references and general sports knowledge are keeping me in the dark . . .)

I AM looking forward to imbibing some pumpkin beer, pumpkin bread, pumpkin soup and other winter type foods and drinks. Which could lead into a whole other huge topic that we will avoid at this juncture.

"Falling leaves please fall on me . . ."

Spring used to be my favorite season. However, I have really started to enjoy fall much more over the last few years.

Glad to read a fresh post. Miss you guys!

I know what you mean about feeling a bit on the outside. I hope that feeling passes.
