This past Thursday I spent some good time at the Paradise Rock Club once again and heard three bands. They all have good qualities and I will break it down for ya!
1) Meligrove Band
These three guys are from Canada--got better as their set went on. Good music, lyrics varied from silly and light to serious to just silly (not an entertaining silly, more a "please try harder" silly). (I'm big on lyrics)
2) Smoosh
This band consists of three pre-pubescent but extremely talented young girls. The musicianship was great--impressive considering I'm pretty sure they are all 16 y/o or younger. The lyrics were pretty immature but I'll give them three years to polish that and they are going kick some serious booty! The drummer is pretty amazing. I'm going to keep my eye on these guys.
3) Tokyo Police Club
Awesome, energetic, TIGHT. Short but really fun songs and the lyrics are clever enough if occasionally silly. LOVE IT!
