I have recently seen some fabulous movies! I will tell you about them now:
1) The Strangers--this is only for those of you out there who like scary movies. Because it was SCARY! I mean hiding in P's shoulder with only one eyeball on the screen scary. And it was marvelously executed. The music, set, acting was all right on. There wasn't one thing out of place. The only thing I don' t like about these types of movies is that there is NO supernatural element. That makes it a lot scarier to me.
2) Dirty Pretty Things--this is a really interesting movie about organ harvesting, illegal immigration and people trying to not only survive but do the right thing. I enjoyed it a lot. The acting is great and the story is interesting enough to suspend belief while at the same time you're thinking "No, that doesn't happen . . ."
3) Citizen X--(based on a true story) this was my favorite of the three. It starts out in Communist Russia in 1982. It chronicles the thankless, tireless yet scrupulous work of a detective who is certain there is a serial killer out there killing local children. The bureaucrats are paralyzed by fear to admit this to their superiors in Moscow--so the detective has little support and no modern equipment to maximize his investigation. He develops a really interesting relationship with one of the Generals and I think the movie becomes more about their relationship than the killer. Democracy comes to Russia, red tape is cut loose and the case is solved within only a couple years (10 years later!).
Watch them!

why such heady movies? ;p i'll put the last two on my queue. at the rate we're going with movies these days, it'll take two years for me to get to them. :)
sorry i couldn't get back to you last night. it's been REALLY hard to call anyone these days. N wants attention at ALL times, and C doesn't get home until after he goes to bed... then it's just too late to call anyone. :( looking forward to being nearby soon though!
