Last week I finally had a vacation. It was lovely, much needed ad appreciated time away from work. And not only that but I got to see loads of people that I haven't seen for a long time.
I spent 5 days in Dayton, OH with my parents, sister and bro-in-law and my two energetic nephews. I usually spend about 4 days but that extra day made such a huge difference in the amount of quality time I had. I saw K and G, had some "adult" time with my sister (no kids) and lots of time with my nephews. Man, kids are energetic! It was awesome. We made breakfast, cookies, trail mix (now known as Al Gorp), jewelry for B, got in my parents hot tub, went to the park. I even got to watch the first soccer practice of the season.
Then the fam (excluding the kids) went to Columbus to see P's band The Grownup Noise play. In Columbus I got to see E and J, K and P, D and A, A and more time with K and G. One of P's old friends from Rochester, NY was there too! It was intense and beautiful at the same time. I loved reconnecting with everyone. These are the friends that you can just fall into place with again like no time has passed. What a precious thing.
Next I traveled to Colorado--Boulder and Denver both. Same story--I saw a different friend every day. C and D, K and D, St., D and a bunch of E and A's friends from Denver that I haven't seen in years. I spent a lot of great time with P's Aunt R and cousin J and got to see L and A in their new home. It was amazing.
I am so blessed to know all these great people who wanted to take some time out to hang out with me. It just reinforces the idea that people are good, life is good and rich and beautiful.
HUGE SIGH and BIG SMILE!

Wow, sounds like you got to see the entire alphabet!
It is so nice having a friend like you, too! :)
Yay! It makes me so happy that you are so happy. It was wonderful to see you. It was very good for my soul to spend some time with friends and hear some good music and just be for a while. Nice mini-vacation from my crazy stressful life.
thank YOU for making the time in your trip to see so many of your friends.
