Cleaning house

Tomorrow directly after work we are hittin' the road.  I mean I will not be home after 7 am tomorrow until maybe midnight or so on Sunday.  Our place was a bit messy but that's the last thing I want to come home to.

As in the tradition of my parents I have to clean before I leave for a trip (with the exception of my honeymoon--we had just moved in and it was a wreck.  M and S will confirm w/vigorous head nodding).  So as best I could muster this evening I cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed etc.   I changed the litter box, watered all the plants and loaded up Sassy's dish with cat food.  It's not my usual standard of cleanliness, but I've still got to pack and get to bed.

Something is better than nothing.  Is this type A becoming a Type B+?

(don't worry, M is checking on Sassy--she is not abandoned for so long)

I often have to adopt the "something is better than nothing" policy with things, especially cleaning and workouts. (As my former housemate, you're probably saying "Emily cleans?!" But I changed too...) It's hard to stop when the job's not done.

I'm with you, I like to clean up before trips but it is a challenge!
Emily's comment cracked me up. Same could be said of me. ;-) These days, between working ungodly hours and the kids, "something is better than nothing" is our MOTTO! Laundry and dishes kind of have to be done after a point, and bathrooms when I reach my ick limit, but vacuuming/dusting has become a luxury. Otherwise, we were doing really well for awhile! We have become clutter averse which makes it easier. Our diningroom table does sometimes turn into a landing pad for too much junk. Sigh...
