Regressing to my Tweenage years

My current obsession, which I stumbled on as the results of a lengthy flight delay is the Twilight Series.  Although it is clearly written for the teenage reader I just can't put it down.  There's something naturally exciting about falling in love--that "first love" excitement.

I.E. this series is perfect for a girl who loves vampire stories.

I can't wait to see the movie.  I hope it doesn't muddy the mental movie I play while reading. I'm a latecomer to the series, but the loyal tweens who love it were upset initially at the actor chosen to play the leading man.  But truly no human being could live up to the description of Edward and to imagine so is just, well, naive.  And the actor they chose is actually quite stunning--a lovely blend of beauty and edginess required for this character.  (Do I sound a little creepy?  The actor is only 21 or so).

Speaking of book to movie I also have high hopes for The Road film adaptation.  The book is tremendous--one I would have considered (if only for a moment) skipping work to finish.  If you haven't read The Road by Cormac McCarthy.  I highly recommend it.  Read it before you see the movie, please!

And no, I haven't given up on comic books just yet.  Just trying not to break the bank--my favs are in trade (5-6 issues collected into 1) and are $10-13 each.  Thus far there at least four more for each series I haven't purchased.

If only the library had more of these . . .

Hey... he's legal, whatever.

I'm reading Twilight too and totally hooked. Can't wait for the movie, though my fear is that it's going to be badly acted.
