1) My Bloody Valentine 3D: OK, so P and I like the horror genre and we went on opening night. But not only was it a great horror film but 3D effects have come a long, long way. It was SO MUCH fun. I recommend it for anyone who likes horror movies. It had unique "kills", decent acting, forward moving plot.
2) Milk: Wow. I mean if you want to be inspired see this movie. Sean Penn and James Franco are outstanding! The story is incredible. I was definitely crying in the dark during this one. Highly recommended!
3) Twilight: OK, yes. I saw it. I didn't have high expectations given that the books (which I LOVE) are for the tweens I knew that the movie would be focused on that population. And I wasn't disappointed. It was fun, silly. Bonus is they followed the book pretty much verbatim. There is a lot of speculation that the forbidden intimacy between Bella and Edward is a metaphor for sex, especially considering that Edward won't turn Bella (ya know in to a vampire) unless they get married. Teenage love and vampires. Can't beat it. Oh and P didn't see this one.
4) Slumgdog Millionaire: You must, must, must see this movie! It follows the story of a poor kid in India who gets onto the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. They use flashbacks to tell the story of his youth and how he got to be on the show. It has great music, acting, scenery and you will leave with such a great feeling!
Man I love the movies!
