I take public transportation to and fro work most days. Sometimes I walk and sometimes my hubby drops me off. But when I am on public transportation I am surrounded by Smart Phones. I want to dislike them, I want to wonder why people won't take in their surroundings and start conversations.
And I get pretty irked when you're in a conversation and there is that moment where you can't remember something OR you have a dispute on some fact, and someone looks it up right away. No chance to think it through or drag it out of the depths. It kind of takes away a little of the fun. And being at a post-work hang out and all the young-uns put their phones out on the bar so they can see them ring or answer a text. What about THIS moment we're having, can we have it together or do you need to include that text message.
And when will I really need to check my e-mail on the run, really? And facebook, facebook???
Despite my urge to despise, I secretly covet and desire a phone like that. Like a beautiful iphone 4G. There are apps for the bus schedule . . . Justified?
